Lovespoons have a long tradition in Wales and were given as tokens of affection for hundreds of years. More functional than decorative in the early days, they were primarily carved in sycamore.
I complete the whole process myself from felling the tree and seasoning the wood, to the finished spoon, which is sealed and polished in natural beeswax. They have proved very popular for birthday, anniversary and wedding gifts, or as mementos of a visit to Wales. For a more personal gift I can carve individual names and dates.
